This year marks the seventh time the Humboldt Foundation has singled out innovative network ideas of Humboldt alumni for a Humboldt Alumni Award with the aim of fostering academic and cultural ties between Germany and the Alumni's home countries and strengthening their collaboration in the respective regions.
Professor Dr Milcho Kirilov Tsvetkov is associate member at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in Sofia, Bulgaria, since 2013. He completed his doctorate in Physics and Mathematics at Yerevan State University, Armenia, in 1976. He conducted research as a Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the University of Münster from 1988 to 1990.

On September 11, 2015 in the Great Hall of the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo will be held a seminar titled "Veliko Tarnovo - science, spirituality, development", dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the birth of Stefan Dodunekov. The event is organized by the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Regional Academic Center - Veliko Tarnovo, Union of Bulgarian Mathematicians and the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

On 24 and 25 June 2015 in Dublin, Ireland, was held a meeting on the FETCH project - Future Education and Training in Computing: How to Support Learning at Anytime Anywhere, in which a partner is the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
The meeting was attended by 80 representatives from 54 partner institutions from 30 European countries.
