About the Australian Mathematics Competition:

The Australian Mathematics Competition is an international math competition for 3rd to 12th grade students. It is one of the biggest competitions of this kind in the world (38 states take part; it has been attended by almost half a million students in the last several years, most of which from Australia, New Zealand and Oceania).

The competition was introduced in 1978 with 60000 students participating and the number of participants is now an eight-digit figure. The event is organized by the non-profit Australian Mathematics Trust. The problem creators include the most experienced mathematics educators in Australia.

The Bulgarian Trace in AMC:

The Union of Bulgarian Mathematicians and the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences were the first to run the Australian Mathematics Competition in Bulgaria in the fall of 1989.
