EUCYS is a European competition for young scientists, organized for the first time in 1989 and is one of the most famous competitions in the world, along with the Intel ISEF.

Bulgaria participates in it for the 16th consecutive year, and participation is organized by the Ministry of Education. Each EU country can send up to three projects in different disciplines. In three days these projects are judged by a jury of 15-20 eminent specialists from the full spectrum of scientific disciplines that cover the contest.

For the fourteenth time the High School Student Institute holds the Summer Research School of Mathematics and Informatics (LISH'14).

The Summer School will involve 40 students received certificates for their excellent and very good performance of the Student Section of the Spring Conference of the Union of Mathematicians in Bulgaria (UBM). They are from Burgas, Varna, Varna, Dimitrovgrad, Kardzhali, Montana, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Ruse, Sliven, Sofia and Shumen. For the first time this year the school has participants from abroad - three students and their teacher from Macedonia.

Deserved success of our representatives in RSI!

 

Our boys made a worthy performance of their talents and ideas, as well as of Bulgaria.

Research Science Institute - RSI, is an annual event of the Center for Excellence in Training in Virginia, USA. It lasts six weeks and involves about 75 high school students from the U.S. and various countries in Europe, Asia and Africa. This year, 83 students from 18 countries participated in RSI.

Great Success of our Team at IOI 2014!

 


At the 26th International Olympiad in Informatics the Bulgarian team won two gold and one silver medal:
Encho Mishinev (9th grade, High School of Mathematics, Yambol) and Hristo Venev (10th grade, Sofia Mathematical High School) won gold medals, and
Momchil Peychev (12th grade, High School of Mathematics, Varna) took the silver. This put Bulgaria in the Top 7 countries by number of medals.
Stefan Ivanov (12th grade, High School of Mathematics, Pleven) was the fourth member of our team.
