The next meeting of the seminar of the

Mathematical Modeling and Numerical Analysis Department

will be held on December 7, 2016 (Wednesday) at 11:00 in room 403 of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics.

A talk on

Processing of high-resolution CT data: denoising, edge detection, and segmentation

will be delivered by Stanislav Harizanov, Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, BAS.

Abstract. In this talk, innovative techniques for denoising and feature extraction from 2D and 3D CT data will be discussed. The proposed mathematical models are based on constrained total variation (TV) minimization, while the investigated numerical algorithms are within the class of the Primal-Dual splitting algorithms and allow for efficient parallel implementation. Numerical results on real industrial input data as well as on synthetic data structures are presented and analysed.
