ON REDUCTIONS IN THEORY OF INTEGRABLE SYSTEMS

 Abstract: The notion of reduction plays a fundamental role in theory of integrable systems. In this talk we shall discuss certain possible generalizations of Mikhailov's concept of reduction group. This will allow us to treat certain classes of non-local integrable equations in a way similar to that for local ones. A few simple examples will be considered to illustrate the general notions discussed.
