Topic: Operads, vertex algebras and formal diffeomorphisms

Abstract:
The intended cycle of (>2) lectures will include a short introduction to the subject as well as results of the author. Operads and vertex algebras are well-established areas of mathematics (MSC2010 18D50, 17B69). In the first two lectures we will introduce the main notions and the relations between them. In the third lecture we will construct a functor from the category of operads to the category of groups, which describes the structure of the groups of formal diffeomorphisms and their generalizations. The main result is a new kind of algebraic structure, motivated by mathematical physics, which "controls" models of quantum fields.
